About Construction Safety Today
Construction Safety Today shares safety initiatives, new guidance, innovations, awards, wellbeing programmes and best practice from UK construction. Positive and practical, never sensational.
Who is behind it
Construction Safety Today is published by TC Media Group, 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. The network's news hub is National Construction News. We are independent of any contractor, manufacturer, trade body or other publisher.
How stories are produced
Every story starts with a primary source: a government or public-body announcement, a trade body, a company's own newsroom or a press release issued for publication. Our newsroom software reads those sources every hour and selects items that are genuine, positive or neutral industry news with a UK angle. Each one is then researched rather than rewritten: we look for further first-hand material, such as the organisation's earlier announcements, its partner's or client's own statement, and official documents and data, and we do not take facts from other news outlets, Wikipedia or social media. Our systems fetch every source page themselves and keep only the facts that can be found, word for word, on the page they came from. The article is written from those verified facts, and a separate automated check compares every claim, figure, name, date and quote against the source pages before anything is published. Stories that fail that check, or that rest on a single source, wait for a human editor. Every article lists all the sources it used at the bottom.
We say so plainly because readers deserve to know: our articles are drafted with AI assistance under rules written by people, and the publisher is accountable for every word. Every photograph is a real image, supplied by the organisation in the story or licensed from a photographer, with a credit; we never use generated images. Where no suitable photograph is available, a story runs with a clearly labelled graphic instead, and only a story with a photograph supplied by its source is used as the lead. Our full editorial policy explains what we will and will not publish.
Directory and newsletter
Our company directory lists UK construction firms for a flat annual fee, and a listing never influences coverage. The weekly newsletter is free and goes out every Friday.
Paid content
We separate news from advertising. Anything a business has paid for is labelled Advertisement Feature at the top of the page and in listings, carries sponsored link attributes, and is kept out of our news feeds and news sitemaps. Genuine news is published free and no one can pay to have a news story written. See advertise for the rate card.
