Cookies

This site sets no cookies and uses no advertising trackers. Audience statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting; it records aggregate page views only.

If you email us

We keep your name, email address and message so we can reply, consider your story and keep a record of what we published and why. Incoming email is sorted automatically by software, including AI tools, before a person sees it; a human reviews anything that is unclear, and you can always ask for a person by replying. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (running a news desk). We keep correspondence for two years, invoices for six years as HMRC requires. We do not sell or share your data, except with the service providers that run our email, hosting and payments (Cloudflare, PayPal, Anthropic) under their data-processing terms.

If we write about you

Articles may name people in their professional roles, drawn from public announcements. You may ask us to correct, update or remove a reference: see corrections.

Newsletter

If you sign up to the weekly newsletter we store your email address, the site you signed up on, the page you used and a hashed IP address for abuse prevention. We send one confirmation email and nothing else until you confirm (double opt-in). Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately. We do not use tracking pixels. Lawful basis: consent.

Marketing email

We only email organisations about publication of material they sent us, or about renewal of a listing they hold. Reply "unsubscribe" to any message and we will not contact you again.
